The Power Of Speaking Blessing Over One Another!

“May God be gracious to you and bless you and make his face shine upon you, that God’s ways may be known on earth and his salvation among all nations.” – Psalm 67:1,2

What a great blessing for a king to speak over his people. Who would not want to be graced and blessed by God? Who would not want God’s face to shine upon them? David understood that people who encounter such blessing can be used by God to supernaturally reveal his ways on earth and bring his salvation to all nations! Blessing one another can serve as a conduit of God’s supernatural provision.

“Oh God, may we as your people today grow to appreciate the power of speaking a blessing over one another. Guide me toward being creative and consistent to speak your blessing over people as often as I have opportunity. And God, please pour out the tangible evidence of your blessing in our lives as we humbly speak such things, and learn to receive them, and walk in light of them. Amen.”

Why not experiment today with blessing someone?

I want to live that way…I want to bless others for the sake of Christ. I want God’s face to shine upon others and me. I want others to know Jesus!

Thanks for that good word Bill.
I hope you are feeling God’s many blessings being poured out over you today! We thank God for you and Jill.

Hey Bill, I like this!!! Last year I became curious about BLESSING after studying Ephesians 1:3, which says, “BLESSED be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has BLESSED us with every spiritual BLESSING in the heavenly places in Christ.” I discovered that “blessing” is a foundational component in the Kingdom (the word is used 500x in the Bible), & here in Ephesians, the word is “eulogeo”, which means “to speak well of, to generously & profusely praise & bless” (from which we get our English word, eulogy). So I loosely paraphrased the verse to read something like this: “Eulogize, I mean generously and profusely praise Abba, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, through His Son, has generously and profusely blessed US with every good thing that heaven has to offer…eulogizing US—speaking well of us and to us and about us.” After reading, “Blessing Your Spirit”, by Arthur Burk, I began to experiment with speaking a blessing over others: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers (& sisters) to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon coming down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commands the blessing—life forever.” Ps 133
